There’s something different about making a photograph on film. Each frame is considered, captured, and developed with intention. At Sketches Studio, the entire process stays in-house; from shooting and developing the film to scanning, editing, and delivering the final images. The result is a more hands-on photographic experience where the character of 35mm film becomes part of the finished photograph. Grain, color, contrast, and the subtle imperfections of the medium give each image a quality that digital photography can’t quite replicate. Whether incorporated into a portrait session or used as the foundation of a shoot, 35mm film offers a slower, more deliberate way to create something distinctly yours.

Session Add-Ons

  • $150 per additional 35mm film image.

    • $100 add-on to preserve the complete character of the negative with the original film border included in your finished photographs. Available for up to five selected images.

    • $50.00 per additional finished images.

  • $50 per person. Additional participants may be added when they require additional session time, direction, or retouching.

    • $1.00 per mile outside of Ames, IA (40-mile radius)

    • $1.50 per mile beyond the initial 40 miles.

    • Pricing may vary depending on the shoot location and special travel.
